The temperature has finally warmed up a little here in St. Louis, and is above freezing for the first time in what seems like months! Lots of people out and about down here in The Loop taking advantage of this beautiful day.

I've had this hat in my closet for at least 6 months now, but have always hestitated wearing it...until today.

Scored this seriously awesome 70s sweater while thrifting with my mom this past Sunday. Wanted to wear it today, but definitely needed a hat because I was having one of those kinds of bad hair days...came across the floppy hat in my closet and decided it was now or never! And I couldn't resist rocking the same necklace from yesterday. Its kind of awesome.

A lovely Thursday evening

I rarely wear black pants (excluding leggings, of course!)...or all black for that matter. But today, I was just kinda feeling it.

I feel like I've gotten into a bit of an outfit rut lately due to the freezing temps and snow here in St. Louis. Its so easy to live in leggings, boots and layers...but I'm starting to get bored and am officially over winter! Thank goodness I live in a place with seasons, because as soon as one season starts to come to end I am so ready for the new season to begin. I don't think I could ever live somewhere that has consistent weather year round. I love getting excited for a new season, new temperatures, and new outfits. That said, we've still got a few months left of winter, so I mine as well accept that fact and force myself to start putting together cute (but still warm) outfits again.

My outfit today isn't anything spectacular, but like I've said before, you can't ever go wrong in a vintage dress and a great pair of boots. Stylish, comfortable and stress-free!

We gave my parents tickets to see Chuck Berry for Christmas and tonight is the night!  My mom and I are meeting Ryan and my dad down at Blueberry Hill for dinner and the show after work.  Good food, good company, good music and maybe even a little dancing! Can't think of a better way to spend this Wednesday evening. Plus, you gotta give major props to Mr. Chuck Berry, who is still rocking out at the age of 84.

I was planning on taking pictures and posting our outfits from last week's Grace Potter & The Nocturnals show, but apparently the type of camera I have was not allowed in the theater...so unfortunately I don't have any pics me and my ladies, or our fun night out.  Total bummer.  Therefore, I decided I had to do a fun rockstar inspired outfit for the show tonight.

I found this dress at a local Goodwill for 8 bucks! Can't beat that! I love a great dress for a great price. My mom and I tried to shoot me in a way that showcased both the front and the back.  The sheer detail is just so awesome...and y'all know I love anything with a cool back!

Fantastic

Its been super cold here this past week and I've had lots of projects to work on around the shop, so my uniform has consisted of leggings boots and flannels...nothing exciting enough to post and nothing I haven't posted before.

Therefore....I was super excited when I saw what Mom was wearing yesterday and just had to share! Doesn't she look fantastic??!

Terri is wearing a vintage Christian Dior skirt, vintage belt and jewelry all from tag*. She topped the look off with her fabulous new jacket from Ann Taylor Loft and her brown boots.

Another daily outfit post from the store...

I am slowly easing these badass boots into my everyday wardrobe. Are they the most comfortable pair of boots I own? Obviously not. Are they harder to walk in than every other shoe I own? Of course. But they rock and are not nearly as bad as I thought they would be. I can't wear them all day every day, but I can wear them so I just have to chose wisely which days I break them out...oh and always have a pair of backup boots just in case ;-)

Anyway...

Grace Potter and The Nocturnals are coming to The Pageant Theater here in STL next Friday!! Just picked up our tickets this morning! I'm channeling my inner rockstar/hippie chick in preperation for the show. I'm sure this won't be the last time either.

a great vintage dress and a good pair of boots

Showing off one of my awesome vintage finds from our trip to Chicago back in September.  Sometimes the easiest thing to wear is a great vintage dress and a good pair of boots...and I'm wearing both today!  I broke out my old fav wedge boots. I hadn't worn them in awhile (as I've been having a bit of a love affair with my knee high brown vintage boots from Jen), and felt the need to show them some love today. Just had to add a belt and a little jewelry and I was done!
