Living Easy, Living Free

Its rainy and gloomy here in the STL so I was planning on just wearing jeans today...until I went into my closet and came across my liquid leggings from last year.  I had almost completely forgotten about them!  So, since I found the leggings I knew I had to step it up a notch from my original plan.
Wearing liquid leggings from F21, random long black tunic tank, leopard print sweater vest from Kohls of all places (returned a Christmas gift there last year and was given store credit), royal blue vintage blazer, black pointy toe pumps (they're a few years old now, but having a love affair with them at the moment!), vintage necklaces and bracelets.
Total cost of outfit: probably between $50 and $60
Hope everyone's having a great day!

She Loves To Laugh, She Loves To Sing

Today I'm wearing a lot of vintage!  I wear at least one piece of vintage everyday, but I realized today almost every piece is vintage!  Fun!  Wearing vintage purple stretch mini skirt from Goodwill, vintage animal print blouse from tag*, vintage gold and rhinestone belt from Unique Thrift, my big gold watch, vintage necklace and bracelets.  Textured tights from Target and, again, my high black boots.
Got a date with Kev tonight!!  We get together once every week or two (outside of the store) and hit up bars/restaurants we've never been to before.  Wonder where we're headed tonight...
Total cost of outfit: about $55

Thrifting

I think we forgot to mention that Jen was in town this past weekend!!  My plan was to document her time here with lots and lots of pictures....but we were having too much fun for me to remember to constantly be snapping pics.  I did get a couple though...
I got off work early Saturday so we could go thrifting together.  Kevin told me about a great thrift store called Unique Thrift which we had never been to before.  Well, we went, we shopped, we tried on and we bought!  We couldn't find a fitting room anywhere so we tried on right there in the store.  As you can see Jen was having some trouble getting the dress on over her other clothes....and then she got stuck.  For awhile there I thought she as going to have to buy that dress and wear it out of the store because the zipper was super stuck...but Laney to the rescue!  Anyway, Jen got a fabulous vintage rabbit fur bomber coat, a cute poncho, and a belt and necklace.  I got a fabulous vintage jumpsuit (which Jen found for me) complete with studs and stirrup pants!!  I also got a vintage gray wool coat with a fur collar, a belt which will be making an appearance in my next post, as I am wearing it as we speak, an awesome vintage hat with a feather and veil which I wore to church Sunday and a vintage bracelet.  All in all, I would say our trip was a success!
For those of you living in the STL (and for anyone who ever visits) be sure to check out Unique Thrift located on St. Charles Rock Road...I promise you won't be disappointed!

Just Another Brick in the Wall...

I'm back! I promise I won't go this long again without posting. I'm going to start having my friend and co-worker Andy take the pics for me so I can actually look some what professional. The building in which my store is has an vacant apartment upstairs that is amazing!!!! So we thought we would sneak up there and take a couple of pics. I'm wearing a vintage cowboy shirt from my store, vintage gold belt from "Ruth's Vintage" in St. Louis, jeans from Jimmyz, and fringed ankle boots from Ebay. It's the first western I've found small enough to fit me and I love it!!!! -Jenna

Roll A New Leaf Over

Posting two of last week's outfits....
Last fall/winter season I was absolutely obsessed with my brown suede wedge slouch boots.  I wore them, literally, with everything.  And, while I still love them, wear them and hold them near and dear to my heart, it looks like these black slouch or over-the-knee-ers are my new go-to boots of the season.  I bought these last year in my attempt to be Pretty Woman for Halloween.  Well, while the outfit didn't quite pan out (I was Sandy from Grease instead), I kept the boots.  I only wore them a few times last year, but have already rocked them too many times this year...and the season has only just begun!
First outfit - wearing black over-the-knee boots, black tights from Target, gray tutu mini skirt and black burnout tank from F21, gray cardigan from Urban, vintage belt, necklaces and bracelets - total cost: about $100
Second outfit - black over the knee boots, gray textured tights from Target, gray GAP tank, old black/white cardigan, vintage shorts and belt, and H&M scarf - total cost: about $85

"Project Closet"

I know its been forever since I last posted and I apologize!  Life has been a bit crazy as of late.  Anway, at the risk of sharing too much information, I posted these before and after pics of my Sunday project.  For some crazy reason I thought it would be a good idea to let my boyfriend have the two closets in our bedroom for his stuff and I would take over the guest room as my "closet."  Well, turns out that wasn't the smartest plan I've ever had...as you can see my large clothing collection didn't really fit.  The closet was too small and my dresser drawers were overflowing.  It was a constant battle (which I obviously lost) to keep that room clean and organized, so I decided for my own sanity that I would have to do something about it.  I spent 4 hours Sunday morning moving all of my stuff to the huge walk-in closet in our basement workout room.  I originally hadn't wanted to use that closet because I thought it would be a pain to have everything downstairs.  But it is working beautifully!  Everything fits, its organized, its so much easier and a lot more fun to pick out what to wear...and I've been picking out my outfit the night before so its all ready to go for me in the morning, which saves me so much time and energy.  I also posted these pics because girls who come in the store are constantly asking what my closet looks like and wondering how many, and kind of, clothes I actually have.  So, now you know.......

"There are things you can replace, and others you cannot"

Jen wasn't the only one who went to a show this weekend....granted, the one I went to wasn't far away or a big name band, but I bet we danced just as much ;-)
My favorite thing to do on a Friday - dance the night away at a Jake's Leg show...and dance we did!

"Smokin' a cig and takin' a pic" - I made Jarrett take a couple pics of me outside the store before we left for the show...we both thought this one turned out really cool

Base camp...had to put our stuff somewhere so we were free to dance!

Randy and Dave rockin' out

Jarrett having entirely too much fun

Me and my partner in crime

Wearing vintage dress and belt from tag*, my fav hat making yet another appearance and my favorite slouchy brown wedge boots

Ain't Life Grand....

Sorry it's been such a long time since I posted but I've been sick with a nasty cold and haven't felt like my outfits were post worthy. Yesterday my better half and I attended a Widespread Panic/The Allmans Brothers Band concert in NC. If you have never attended a Panic show its definitly a sight to see.. (Laney you know what I mean!) People from all over come together to listen to great music and dance their asses off!!! So if you have never listened to them please check them out because they are amazing musicians. Unfortunatly on our way up there Lance got a speeding ticket but the upside is I got a picture of it!! I decided to include some pics of our trip up there and some of the lot before the show. I wore a vintage Victor Costa dress from the 70's and studded ankle boots and necklaces from F21. Total cost of outfit $85.00  -Jenna
