Starting the birthday celebration early....

Hope everyone had a beautiful holiday with family and friends!  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and we have so many things to be thankful for this year!
Its Black Friday so I'm just doing a quick post so I can get back to work...
Took these pictures on my grandparent's deck yesterday after our delicious turkey dinner.  My birthday is the 29th of this month, but I got to start the celebration a little early with a gift from my grandparents.  They just got back from a cruise and picked up this fabulous sash/scarf for me in the Bahamas.  Its so fun!  I threw it on with my outfit as a scarf/necklace, but I also plan on wearing around my hips and also as a swimsuit coverup.  So many options!
Gifted sash worn with Walmart leggings, old slouch brown boots, GAP tank, vintage draped jacket and vintage jewelry.
Total cost of outfit: about $100
Gotta run!!

Crushing

We all know how much I love this knit hat, as it has been featured on this blog too many times to count.  Well, apparently I'm crushing on these boots right now.  I found them on clearance at Marshals years ago.  I've worn them consistently over the years, but lately I just can't seem to get enough.  The color is perfect for fall and I love where they hit on my leg.
Anyway....
Today I'm wearing vintage jewelry and dress from tag*, thrifted hat and belt, and old boots from Marshals.
Total cost of outfit: about $25

I'm doing a bunch of updating today.  Updating blogs, the website, Facebook, etc.  I've been so busy with new merchandise and finding places to put it all that I haven't had a lot of time for other store-related projects lately.  So today is the day to play catch-up!
Picking Kevin up after work and bringing him home with me for an Ugly Betty slumber party at my house!  We're exiling Ryan to the basement with a new video game so we can take over the family room with Ugly Betty Season 1 Disc 2, frozen pizza, red wine, blankets and a fire in the fireplace.  Can't wait!
Happy Wednesday!!
P.S. I know I mention the store all the time in this blog, so I'm going to post some pictures soon.  Stay tuned....

Queen Catherine

Every time I come across an image of Ms. Catherine Baba, I am reminded of what fashion is truly about.  Its about creating your own style, being creative and having fun with fashion.  Far too many people out there either take fashion too seriously or just don't care at all.  The always fabulous Ms. Baba is the perfect example of having fun, taking risks and staying true to yourself, all the while making it look effortless.
(For those who are not familiar with her, Catherine Baba is a freelance stylist and consultant for a number of fashion houses and designers.)
I woke up a little blah this morning and instead of just throwing on the easiest thing, which is what I wanted to do, I turned to Queen Catherine for inspiration...
This fabulous sheer cape-like top came into the store yesterday and I just had to have it for myself.  So amazing!  I wasn't in the mood to even try for a cute outfit today, but then decided that's exactly what I needed to kick my butt into gear!  I paired my great new vintage piece with liquid leggings and animal print strappy heels. I went with big jewelry and pulled back hair to complete the look.
Wearing vintage top, F21 liquid leggings and heels, vintage and random jewelry.
Total cost of outfit: about $45
Happy Friday!!

a turban, vest and bells....

Ah, I can't believe its 5 o'clock already! I'm running out of time in my day...so much to do so little time. I'm usually off on Tuesday evenings, but I went to Kansas City over the weekend for a surprise engagement party for Ryan's brother and fiance. (A bonfire engagment party at her parent's house! Soo much fun!)Kevin worked the store for me like the rockstar that he is, which leaves me to close tonight. Even with being here all day, I STILL can't get it all done! But can't complain that the store is doing so well its keeping me busy :) If you're in the area come on by and check us out at 6314 Delmar!
Anyway, moving on...
I just couldn't resist pairing my awesome thrifted vintage vest with my new amazing bell bottoms.  They just seemed like the perfect combo today.  Threw on the turban headband at the last minute because the outfit just didn't seem complete.
Wearing F21 tunic tank, old UO cardigan, thrifted vintage vest, my favorite Seven For All Mankind bell bottoms, Payless boots, random turban headband, and vintage jewelry.
Total cost of outfit: about $200
Hope everyone is having a great day!
