unexpected

Went for some color to brighten up this rainy Thursday. I love unexpected color combinations, and have rocked the purple/green combo before...but never quite as loud as today. I added a little bit of leopard print and some bling to complete the craziness. Its bright, its bold, its fun!
Wearing vintage pants and blouse from tag*, F21 leopard strappy sandals, Target socks, and thrifted vintage belt. Topped the look off with some vintage necklaces and bracelets, also from tag*.
Total cost of outfit: about $50

desperately longing....

I apologize for the lack of posts lately. Life at the store was super busy over the weekend (yay!), and then I wasn't feeling well earlier this week. But, my mom (being the awesome mom that she is!) worked the store for me yesterday so I could go home and get some much needed rest. And rest I did! What a pleasure it was to wake up this morning feeling rested and happy.
I've been dying to wear my long summer dresses again, so this morning I decided to put one on and layer it up for the chilly weather. While this will do for now, I'm still desperately longing for the days when I can shed the layers, trade the boots for sandals, and bask in the warmth of springtime...
Wearing F21 maxi dress, thrifted denim western, vintage belt, bracelets and necklace from tag*, etsy feather earring and Payless boots. Threw on my vintage faux fur vest on the way out the door for additional warmth.
Total cost of outfit: about $35

sunshine daydream

Sunshine, daydream, walking in the tall trees,
Going where the wind goes, Blooming like a red rose,
Now come on over sweetly,
Ride out singin', "I got you in the morning sunshine."
Sunshine, daydream, Now come on over daydream
Sunshine, daydream, Hey come on, Never gonna sweet dream
Sunshine, daydream, Wading in a cold stream.

The weather here is gorgeous! Its been warming up over the past few days and today its sunny with temperatures in the 70s. Simply lovely! Decided I wanted to wear something colorful and comfortable. This little  vintage kimono dress is perfect. The material is lightweight and cool, the print is awesome, its roomy and has pockets! Went with a bare leg today and paired it with little Payless booties. (Definitely felt weird getting ready this morning and NOT putting on tights or leggings!)
Wearing vintage dress from tag*, Payless booties, F21 ring and Target earrings.
Total cost of outfit: about $45

Can't believe another weekend is almost upon us!
I'm super excited because one of my favorite ladies ever is coming in town tomorrow and I can't wait to play!

wednesday

This crazy print shirtdress came in a huge lot of dresses we recently got in at the shop. The buttons were missing and the size was way too big for me but I loved the print and colors so I bought it anyway, knowing I would figure out a way to rock it. I decided the best way was to wear it open like a jacket.
Vintage shirtdress from tag* layered over Walmart leggings, and F21 tank. Topped off the look with F21 hat and jewelry, thrifted fur vest, and favorite slouch boots.
Total cost of outfit: about $120

cute little mini

A quick outfit post today so I can show off one of my new vintage dresses. We got a delivery of over 100 dresses here at the shop yesterday, and I ended up buying a few for myself. Loving the 60s print and cut to this cute little mini!
Wearing vintage dress from tag*, vintage necklace from Retro 101, estate sale ring, and old ebay boots.

can't believe its already friday again...

I scored this fabulous vintage kimono robe at an estate sale this past summer. And wait for it....it cost 10 cents! It was dirty and needed some serious mending, but who cares?! I took it home, soaked it in some oxyclean, took a needle and thread to it, and it is now one of my favorite vintage pieces.
I love this outfit because its amazingly comfortable and laid back, yet still stylish and chic.
Wearing vintage kimono robe, Walmart leggings and hoops, old F21 tunic, vintage belt and jewelry from tag*, and fav slouch boots.
Total cost of outfit: about $85
I can't believe its already Friday again! I swear, the older I get the faster time just flies by. Lots of stuff to keep me busy here at the shop today and then heading home for a quiet Friday night on the couch with my man and our pup.

Total cost of outfit: about $60

Babydoll

Note to self: Next time think twice about wearing a lightweight flowy babydoll dress on a windy day.
When the wind kicks up...so does the dress! Might have shown my backside to a few people in the parking lot at my bank this morning...oops!
I love this dress though! Picked it up on one of my recent trips to some local thrift stores. Its very 90s! I love the cut, the colors, the different prints...its just fun! Very Laney - comfortable, colorful, and a little crazy :)
I will definitely be wearing it this spring and summer paired with cowboy boots, flat sandals, and wedges. But I couldn't wait until the change of the seasons, so to winterize it a bit I added tights, high boots and my navy motorcycle jacket. I like the contrast of the tough jacket and boots against the bright colors and flowy material of the dress.
Wearing thrifted babydoll dress,F21 motorcycle jacket, Bakers boots, Target earrings, and estate sale ring.
Total cost of outfit: about $180
Jenna is coming over tonight for a little girls night! She got married about a year and a half ago, but her and her husband are finally getting the chance to go on their honeymoon! They are heading to Jamaica at the end of the month, and I'm so excited for them! They need (and deserve) a vacation! And they get to get out of this blistering cold to go bathe in the warmth of the tropics. (ok, maybe I'm a little jealous too)
Anyway, she's coming over tonight to play in my closet and see what kind of awesome outfits we can pick out for her to wear while honeymoonin'! Dinner and maybe even a little wine might be involved too.
Happy Tuesday!

Leggings and Boots

Another winter day...another outfit of leggings and boots.
One of my favorite customers of all time (who has also become a good friend) stopped by the shop this afternoon, which of course made my day! Whitney is the coolest and has the best style! I love when she comes in, not only does she always buy the best pieces, but she also stays for a long chat :) We were talking about how we're so sick of the cold weather and are ready for spring. We laughed as we discussed being tired of wearing leggings and boots....while we were both wearing leggings and boots. Too funny!
Wearing thrifted striped tee, thrifted vintage vest (one of my favorite new pieces!!), Walmart leggings and hoops, favorite gold watch and slouch boots.
Total cost of outfit: about $95

Total cost of outfit: about $100

shells and stripes

Mom showed up at the shop in her awesome vintage turtle belt today, which is funny because I was wearing my awesome vintage zebra belt. Guess great minds think alike...and have a thing for all animal accesories!
Curls, zebras, tights, and a pair of Mary Janes...
Challenging myself to rock the natural hair until the last weekend in March. Its time I stopped putting so much heat to my poor damaged hair if I ever want it to grow...and maybe its time to embrace what the good Lord gave. But, man, its tough! Girls with curls always want straight, and girls with straight always want curls. The grass is always greener, right?

On Mom
vintage skirt from tag*
random sweater
thrifted vintage turtle belt
random jewelry
gifted flat black boots
Total cost of outfit: about $40

On Laney
