a new day, a new way, and new eyes to see the dawn

I recently realized how many skirts I have hanging in my closet.  I'm usually more of a dress girl, simply because they're easier, one piece of clothing and you're done.  I love skirts (especially the ones we have in the store right now!), but I always struggle with what to wear on top.  Well, this week we are running a $10 skirt sale here at tag*, so I was inspired to rock some of my skirts that don't usually get much attention.
Wearing vintage skirt, belt and jewelry from tag*.  Paired with thrifted vintage cowboy boots and an old Express top.  Feeling really girly today with the full pink mini skirt and ruffled top, but not gonna lie, kind of loving it!
Total cost of outfit: about $50

Happy Monday!  Hope everyone is off to a good start to their week!

97 but feels like 109

I know I must sound like a broken record by now...but my God, its hot hot hot here in STL!  It was miserable just being outside this morning to take pictures.  It seems like there has been a heat advisory happening for the past month...it hasn't been out of the upper 90s and lower 100s in weeks.  Melting!  And sooo ready for fall to come in with its crispy temperatures and nice breezes.
Anyway....
Today I'm wearing my awesome vintage silver harem pants sent to me from Greenville (love you, Jen!) and an embroidered vintage bustier from ebay.  I have had this bustier in my closet for a long time now and I'm excited to finally be wearing it today!  Its seriously rocking my world.
Total cost of outfit: about $45
Hope everyone is staying cool out there!

wings a mile long just carried the bird away

So I decided I was ready for fall like 5 minutes ago.  I've been shopping and buying all kinds of great fall merchandise for the store, so all I can think about is tights and boots and sweaters and jackets and scarves and hats and coats which of course means that's all I want to be wearing.  But....alas we've still got at least a month of scorching summer left before we see the temperature start to drop and the leaves begin to change (sigh).  So, instead of being sad, I decided I needed to embrace the last days of summer!  And nothing says summer to me more than amazing long vintage dresses and flowers in my hair.  So that's exactly what I'm wearing today :)
Jenna sent me this vintage dress from her store, The Clothing Warehouse in Greenville, and I could just die.  Its seriously rocking my world right now.  How lucky am I?  An amazing friend AND an amazing dress!  What more could a girl ask for?  (Well, actually, I could ask for her to move back to St. Louis...)
Wearing long vintage cutout halter dress, old turquoise wedges, and vintage animal jewelry.

Total cost of outfit: $15 - no joke!  The shoes were on sale at Marshalls years ago for 10 bucks, the dress was a gift, the zebra cuff was bought with trade at the thrift store, Avalon, and the ring I bought at my store.  I love bargains!!!!
Happy happy Friday, everyone!  I get to go to Jake's Leg tonight (sooo excited), see my BFF partner in crime, Jarrett, and then Mary, one of my absolute favorite people in the world, is coming home on Sunday for a week!  Life is good.  Hope everyone else enjoys a weekend spending time with people they love.
