I don't need to fight To prove I'm right

I was going to meet my mom at my parent's house this morning for some pics in the woods behind their house, but I was having one of "those" mornings...ladies, you know what I'm talking about.  A closet full of clothes, a million outfits tried on, and nothing to wear.  Not to worry, I did manage to get it together in the end.  But due to my running late and the fact that it decided to start raining, we opted for just a few quick pics in their backyard.
Wearing this weird one-shouldered drapey dress I found for like 3 bucks at a thrift store last summer.  I've tried to wear it a couple of times, but never felt like it did anything for me but I refused to get rid of it until I wore it at least once.  I paired it with this awesome vintage butterfly belt I came across a few weeks ago.  I looove this belt!  I have an obsession with butterflies that dates back to middle school (just ask Jenna) but I'm not one to actually wear anything adorned with butterflies. I usually find butterfly clothing and accessories cheesy and childish, but not this belt.  With the double chain on one side and the mismash of stones glued to the face of it, I just couldn't resist.  Its a butterfly with a little bit of rockstar edge....gotta love it!
Wearing random thrifted long dress, thrifted vintage belt, old wrapped bracelets and sandals from Marshalls.
Total cost of outfit: about $25
Happy happy Friday!!!

Seems like I should be getting somewhere....

Another quick post today.  Its another hot hot hot day here in the STL so I decided it was time to break out this outfit which has been in closet since the summer after the store opened...2 years and this is the first time I'm finally wearing it!  Its bright, cool and fun.  The perfect combination as the temperature climbs into the 100s.

High Waisted and Crop Tops

Ever since I told Jill Manoff that crop tops and high waisted anything were two of my current favorite trends I've been tying to rock an outfit with them.  Today I went for it and am kind of channeling a little 90210 (the orginal, of course!).
Wearing vintage high waisted shorts from tag*, DIY cropped tank, vintage belt and jewelry and DSW wedges.
Total cost of outfit: about $65

feathers among the flowers

I went to the Muny to see the Titanic musical with my parents last night.  The Muny is a huge ampetheater located in Forest Park and hosts a series of plays and musicals throughout the summer months.  The Muny has long since been a summer tradition in my family.  My mom packs a picnic of chicken salad, veggies with dip, fruit salad, deviled eggs, and some sort of treat for dessert, and we head down to the picnic tables outside the theater where we enjoy our picnic feast and whatever entertainment they are providing that night.  Last night it was the Muny kids (ages probably 5 thru 13) singing songs from this season's musicals.  They were adorable and had some serious talent in the group!
After dinner my mom and I went to play in the flowers for a few quick pics before heading in to find our seats.
I wasn't wearing anything amazing or fancy, just a long comfortable black vintage dress with flat sandals....oh, and my seriously badass feather earrings from F21!
Total cost of outfit: about $25
If you're ever in St. Louis be sure to check out Forest Park!  Its one of the best things about St. Louis!  Centrally located, it is home to our fantastic (and still free admission) zoo, The St. Louis Art Museum, The St. Louis History Museum, The Boat House Restaurant located on a lake equipped with paddle boats, a golf course, The Muny, and so much more fun stuff!  You can check out all of its goodness here.  Oh, and its about 5 minutes from my store* so you could easily visit both in one trip :-)

"Someone told me there's a girl out there with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair"

I'm finally breaking out this fantastic 1970s jumpsuit I scored awhile back on ebay.  I had been saving it to wear for the first time to a Jake's Leg show, but seeing as I haven't been able to get my hippie dance on recently, nor do I see it happening anytime in the near future, I decided today was the day!  I heart vintage jumpsuits so much, all kinds, all lengths, all eras...but this one is definitely up there on my list of favorites.  The huge wideleg accordian pants and center crochet medallion really make it over-the-top amazing!
Wearing vintage jumpsuit, DSW nude wedges, vintage jewelry and flower in my hair
Total cost of outfit: about $45
Loving the beautiful weather we are having here this week!  Temps are in the mid 80s and the breeze is so refreshing after the past couple weeks of boiling heat.  My mom's here at the store today helping out and then I'm off to Kevin's house tonight for a date with our girls from Sex and the City.  Old episodes and good company, doesn't get much better than that!
