One-shouldered crazy print jumpsuit with pockets? Yes, please!

Super quick post today, as always lots to do at the store!
Wearing this fantastic jumpsuit I found on my last visit to Avalon, the thrift store down the street from tag.  Wild crazy print, pockets and one-shoulder...doesn't get much better than that in my book!  Also rocking my new nude wedges I picked up last night in the clearance section at DSW.  The other nude wedges that have made many an appearance here on the blog finally bit the dust so I had to break down and buy a new pair.  I'm not as in love with these as the other ones...they're about 1/2 an inch shorter, not quite as comfortable (although they might just need some breaking in), and while they were on sale for 28 bucks its still not as good as the others which I snagged back in January for $9.99!  Oh, well, these will have to do and I'm sure that over time I will come to cherish them just as much if not more.
Wearing thrifted jumpsuit, DSW wedges, old belt from Urban, and vintage jewelry
Total cost of outfit: about $55
Off at 4 today (I heart Tuesdays) and heading home to host Ryan's birthday dinner (he turned 27 on Sunday) with his family and mine.  Brisket, potato salad, beans, coleslaw and birthday cake here we come!

Bars on the window

My hair looks kinda long in this picture!  I have been growing it out for a couple of years now and its finally starting to feel long to me!  I still have like 12 inches to go before it will be the length I want but I'm going to celebrate a little now...Woo hoo!
Anway...Wearing long vintage dress, payless sandals, random jewelry and a flower in my hair.
Total cost of outfit: about $30
Back to work...

On the first part of the journey, I was looking at all the life....

I've had this vintage tie dye slip in my closet for awhile now and today seemed like the perfect day to break it out.  Its even hotter today than yesterday and this slip is just so breezy.  And, I'm loving the colors in it.
I met my mom at some random railroad tracks near my house for a few quick photos this morning.  And let me tell you, we did do them quick!  The heat index was already pushing 100 degrees at 10 this morning....crazy!  If this is how hot June is, I'm wary to see what July and August have in store for us.  We are definitely going to have to go back to those tracks for more photos in the future.  Lots of great settings for some cool pictures.
Wearing vintage slip skirt from ebay, random white tank, vintage jewelry and payless sandals.
Hope everyone is having a great week and staying cool!

Hot Child In The City

The temperatures here are reaching the 100 degree mark and we are all trying to find ways to keep cool.  I opted for this breezy vintage lingerie top and cutoffs to beat the heat today.
Topped off the look with my fringe vintage cowboys, random and vintage jewelry, and some braided pigtails.
Total cost of outfit: about $40
Just a little trivia about me: "Hot Child In The City" is in my top 5 all time favorite Sex and The City episodes.  Great episode!  Now that I'm talking about it, I think I'm going to have to watch it when I get home tonight :-)

Tuesdays

Super quick post today, there is so much going on at the store right now!  So much great new stuff that we are pricing and putting out!  I'm excited!
Anyway, wearing vintage embroidered dress, Walmart fedora, Target belt, vintage/random jewelry and DSW wedges.  This dress is a recent addition to my closet and I'm loving it!
Total cost of outfit: about $40
I love Tuesdays!  I'm off at 4 on Tuesdays, so Ryan and I always do date night.  Tonight its grocery shopping and picking up a gift for our friends who are getting married this weekend, followed by taco salads and Invictus.  It may not sound like much to everyone, but its like music to my ears =)

These streets will make you feel brand new. Big lights will inspire you.

Kevin and I went to see SATC2 last night.  I have to say, while I did enjoy the movie and loved my time with Kev, the experience was disappointing.  I didn't expect it to be quite the same as it was when the first movie came out...everyone dressed to the nines, a line to get into the theatre, girls joining together for a night on the town, etc etc etc....but I also didn't expect the theater to be so sparse and for Kev and I to be the ONLY people dressed in something other than jeans and a t-shirt.  Are we the only true fans left out there?!
All that being said, Kevin and I had a blast!  We drank champagne, snacked on cheese and crackers while watching old episodes before heading to the movie and talked Sex and the City all night long!  Thank goodness I have someone in my life who gets it and loves it as much as I do :-)
Kevin is looking fierce in jeans, an I Love NY tee, vintage vest, scarf, bag and boots from tag*.  He was trying to decide between the one biker glove or a leather cuff.  I voted for the glove, of course!
I'm wearing a vintage jumpsuit, belt and ring.  I took the advice from my mom to add a vintage broach to my DIY turban headband and am really glad I did!  Random bracelets and black platform sandals (I think they're from DSW).
Ignore the reviews, disregard the fact that its the second SATC movie, put on your fiercest outfit, grab your friends and use it as an excuse to have a totally fabulous night out together!  I promise you'll have a blast!

Doorways and Braids

This dress is actually a skirt I snatched up from the store a couple years ago.  I loved the colors and pattern so much that I never tried it on and just figured it would fit...which turned out to not be the case.  It was way too big to wear as a skirt, but then I had the enlightened idea to wear it as a dress and haven't looked back since!
Rocking the side braid today and am really excited about it.  I have been a fan of the side braid for years now because Jenna was sporting it long before it became the "it" hair trend for the season.  It was always my favorite way she wore her hair and I was always envious of it because my hair was never long enough to do on myself.  But, as you can see, its long enough now!
Wearing vintage skirt as a dress, vintage necklace, jewelry and boots...and, yes, I'm wearing the black fringe cowboys again today.  Just goes to show you, they go with everything!
I've said it before and I'll say it again: My 3 favorite vintage items are vintage cowboy boots, vintage maxi dresses, and vintage jumpsuits.  I love them all equally and would be happy if I had to live in them for the rest of my life.
Total cost of outfit: about $50
