like mother, like daughter

My mom looked so casually cute today in her many layers I made her take a pic with me.  She hates having her picture taken, but gave in and was a really good sport.
She's wearing Gap straight leg jeans, a tshirt, brown cardigan belted with a vintage belt from tag*, brown vest and scarf, a long polished stones necklace and her fav Birks.
I'm wearing Gap boyfriend jeans, Target leopard flats, vintage Mickey tee from tag*, H&M cargo jacket and thrifted hat.
In honor of all mothers everywhere, call your mom today and tell her you love her!

Another Friday night, another Jake's Leg show.  Smokin, dancin, drinkin, twirlin, rockin.  Good times, good times.
Wearing black vintage maxi from tag*, F21 headband and fringed vest.  The awesome necklace was a Chrismas gift from my favorite cousin!  Thanks, Beck :-)
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

well i told you once and i told you twice. but ya never listen to my advice.

Gave my mom a spiffy new hairdo this morning, and in return she met me up at a park near my house to do a quick photo shoot.  There's something kind of sad about swimming pools during the winter.  Vacant, lonely, silent.  Yearning for the noisy, glorious days of summer to return.
I, myself, am looking forward to some warm weather in my future....24 days and counting until Ry and I are cruisin' towards the Caribbean!
The outfit I had planned for today was based around my favorite brown wedge boots.  Was about to get dressed when I remembered said boots are at the shoe repair getting some much needed work done...duh, Laney.
So, went an entirely different direction....
Wearing F21 liquid leggings, vintage velour slip and leopard silk scarf, old Gap blazer, $5 Walmart aviators, random vintage and new jewelry.
Total cost of outfit: $60

i seem to recognize your face. haunting, familiar, yet i can't seem to place it.

Not really sure what I'm doing in this picture...awk-ward.  Anyway, I feel as though I've kind of been stuck in a fashion rut as of late.  So, thought there's no time like the present to make a change.  Time to start wearing some of the stuff I've never worn, or things I have but in new and different ways.
Wearing thrifted red slipdress, gray UO cardigan, Target tights and belt, vintage jewelry, random faux fur collar, F21 headband and boots from ebay.
Total cost of outfit: about $70
Used Christmas money to start my Sirius radio subscription back up again, had cruise control installed in my car for Christmas from my parents (I'm addicted to cruise control), blogging, changing mannequins and posting pics to Facebook with Pearl Jam turned up loud...then off at 4 today!  Home for Wii Fit (thanks, Jen!!), taco salads and DVRed Fringe with my man.  All in all, I would have to say life's pretty darn good.
Oh, and its supposed to get to up to 44 degrees tomorrow and Thursday!  After a month of freezing temps its going to feel like summer...get excited!

Wanna Be Starting Something....

Wow can you believe it's 2010? My husband and I attended a Widespread Panic concert in Atl on New Years and they opened up the new year with " Gonna Be Starting Something" by Michael Jackson. Pretty awesome cover for a jam band!!!! I have many resoultions for 2010 such as cussing less, saving money, and trying to be more productive with my time. We will see! Also today I have been officially married to the man of my dreams for 6 months! I love you Lance!!! Today I'm wearing a vintage western from my store, vintage Steelers t-shirt from Goodwill, sequin skirt from TJ Maxx, and boots from F21. Total cost of outfit-$45. Jenna

"I may be going to Hell in a bucket, Babe, but at least I'm enjoying the Ride"

I've been struggling lately with outfits because it is so chilly outside.  And, I'll admit, I have been a bit lazy.  So, this morning I decided I had to at least attempt to make an effort.  Its not my favorite outfit I've ever worn, but its one step in the right direction.  More (and better) posts to come next week...I promise.
Wearing AA navy skirt and black shirt, Urban cardigan, target tights, H&M circle scarf and gloves, thrifted belt, ebay black boots and vintage ring.
Ryan and I just booked a cruise yesterday for the beginning of February...and let me tell you how excited I am!!!  I haven't been on vacation in a few years and am SO looking forward to warm weather, beaches and snorkling, catching up on my reading, spending some quality time with Ryan and some much needed R&R!  There's really nothing better than a tropical vacation in the dead of winter.
Oh, and Jenna is coming in town the last weekend in February...so all in all, I would have to say, next month is shaping up to be pretty freakin' awesome!
Hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying their weekend!

"Life isn't about Waiting for the Storm to pass, but learning how to Dance in the Rain"

I know its been awhile since I last posted, but the holidays and year-end inventory at the store have kept me super busy these past couple of weeks.  It was crazy hectic, but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way...
I spent the month of December baking Christmas cookies, decorating our house, singing along with Christmas music, buying and wrapping presents, cooking dinner and playing Rock Band with Mary, eating lots of delicious food (including Mom's famous Christmas Eve lasagna), waking up to a White Christmas, drinking Brown Squirrels and sharing stories with old friends, giving and receiving presents, enjoying the holiday season with Ryan in our new home, drinking Bourbon Slush and laughing about how similar our men are with Jen, eating brunch and spending time with family, eating more food and watching Christmas Vacation with Ryan's family, playing (and winning!!) Bingo with the crazy but wonderful Manges family, doing year-end inventory at the store, having drinks and laughing a lot with Kev, getting cozy by the fire, playing Punch Out on Wii and beating some serious ass, drinking champagne and dancing to friends singing karaoke on New Years Eve, beating Hunter at Scene It on New Years night, drinking more champagne and watching Extract with Ry, cuddling with our dog Micah, waiting in line to see Avatar and thoroughly enjoying my blessed life!
May 2010 bring us all much love, health and happiness!!!
I took this pic in the bathroom of my friend's house in the wee hours of the new year.  Wearing one of my absolute favorite vintage dresses...I will wear it again sometime and do another post since this picture does not do the dress justice.
